Ready to earn your views? Join us for a challenging winter ascent of Bandera Mountain—one of the most iconic hikes off I-90. This one brings the burn, the beauty, and (if the mountain gods cooperate) panoramic summit views that make it all worth it.

📍 Trip Details

  • Distance: 9 miles (round trip)

  • Elevation Gain: 3,800 ft ( ~600 ft from winter route)

  • Difficulty: Hard 💪

  • Location: Near Bandera Mountain (via Ira Spring Trailhead winter access)

🌄 What to Expect

We’ll begin from the Tinkham Road approach (Exit 42) since the main road is closed—adding a little extra spice right from the start.

The trail starts mellow through forested terrain before ramping up into a steeper, rockier climb. As we gain elevation, expect snow coverage, shifting conditions, and increasingly rewarding views of the Snoqualmie Valley and surrounding peaks.

At the top? If skies cooperate—wide-open alpine views, snowy lakes, and peak after peak. If not… well, you’ll still earn bragging rights 😄

🎒 Required Gear

  • Microspikes (mandatory)

  • Waterproof boots extra socks

  • Warm layers (wind/snow ready)

  • Food at least 2L water

  • Gloves, hat, and shell

  • Sunscreen (yes, even in winter ☀️)

  • Plastic bag for post-hike muddy boots

🚗 Carpool Info

  • Riders: $20 to drivers for gas

  • Road access is suitable for all vehicles

🌿 CNS Vibe

We hike as a team—steady pace, regroup points, and good energy all around. Expect effort, encouragement, and a few “are we there yet?” jokes along the way.

If you’re looking for a solid winter challenge with serious reward, this is your hike.

Let’s climb. 🏔️
