Special Rules for Advanced Hiking Group
To ensure safety, organization, and an enjoyable experience, members participating in the Advanced Hiking Group must adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Group Size
- Maximum group size: 12 participants, including at least one Lead Assistant to support the leader and members during the hike.
2. Member Qualifications
- Participants must have completed at least five (5) moderate hikes of 5+ miles with an elevation gain of 2,000 feet or more.
- Members must check their physical and mental readiness with the group leader prior to the hike to ensure they meet the demands of the activity.
3. Pre-Hike Requirements
- Members must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or concerns that may affect their ability to participate safely.
- All participants are required to review the hike details, route, and expectations beforehand to prepare adequately.
4. Safety and Conduct
- Members must follow instructions from the leader and assistant(s) at all times.
- Carry essential gear, including appropriate clothing, footwear, hydration, and navigation tools, as outlined in the hike briefing.
5. Respect for Limits
- Be honest about personal limitations and communicate openly with the leader or assistant if facing challenges during the hike.
- Members who fail to meet qualifications or readiness standards may be asked to defer their participation to ensure group safety.
